Low-Calorie Foods ProgramThis program is designed for people with a BMI between 20-24.9 who wish to lose 10-20 pounds. What Does the Program Include?The program includes nutritional counseling, healthy eating lessons, and training sessions on how to properly monitor your calorie intake, prepare and choose foods that provide optimal nutrition, and select appropriate serving sizes. As part of this program, we design a customized exercise program to meet your needs. How Will My Diet be Designed?The NWMC's registered dietitian, Renu Vij, will assess your current nutritional and health status and visit with you to learn more about your food preferences, lifestyle, and work and family obligations so that she can design a personalized weight loss plan to fit your specific needs. To accurately determine what type of weight loss diet you need, Renu will consider if you have time to prepare healthy food for yourself or if you need ideas for quick-fix meals or healthy fast food items. She will also consider if you will be cooking for other family members while trying to stick with a low-calorie diet. She specializes in helping you incorporate particular ethnic foods into your healthy meal plan. How Long Will it Take to See Results?Depending on how much weight you need to lose, how many calories you cut out of your typical diet, how much activity you introduce into your lifestyle, and your gender (men tend to lose weight faster than women because they are generally bigger and have a higher metabolic rate), you should expect to lose 1.5 to 2 pounds per week. At that rate, you can expect to lose 25 pounds in approximately 12.5-15.5 weeks. |
